Indonesian Eye : Fantasies And Realities
Start date: June 9, 2011
End date: July 10, 2011
“Fantasies and Realities” presents works by 18 Indonesian artists encompassing the artistic heritage, rich tradition and the rapidly evolving society of present day Indonesia.
The exhibition has gathered works from accross the Indonesian Archipelago with the aim of showcasing a wide selection of leading contemporary artists.
“Fantasies and Realities” strives to explore the uniqueness of Indonesian art which focuses on local appropriation of culture and expressed it in a fresh and at times deceptively naive new language : made up of myths, realities and child’s play mixed with a more abstract artistic and realistic expression.
